MAKERS OF FURNITURE & INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE

Award-winning furniture

Mornington Day Construction manufactures award winning furniture and specialist interior architecture. What links all of the projects undertaken is a meticulous attention to detail; whether making a cantilevered reception desk, converting architects’ conceptual sketches into reality, building technically challenging interior projects or constructing a working model guillotine for a Poldark episode, Roland Day and his team can tackle most things!

Furniture

Mornington Day design and make furniture to commission as well as producing work for leading national and international designers. The work encompasses private and corporate commissions and has been installed in locations as varied as cotswold farmhouses and Royal Palaces in Jordan. We are more than happy to discuss any project where quality is paramount.

Ecclesiastical Furniture

Over the years Mornington Day have produced many commissions for the church, each project reflects the character of the architecture and the purpose of the product. Work to date includes a prayer table and chair (St. John The Divine, Coventry), traditional oak panelled altar (St. Faith & St. Lawrence, Birmingham) and a contemporary recording and mixing desk (St Aldates, Oxford).

Interior Architecture

The difference between furniture and interior architecture is one of scale, however, attention to detail remains constant. Mornington Day have tackled many technically challenging projects including staircases, timber panelling and retail cabinet work including retail outlets for The Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

Case Study

This case study exemplifies the services Mornington Day offer designers and architects. In this instance it was for Oktra, one of London’s leading office design companies. Mornington Day were able to take conceptual sketches and translate them through highly detailed CAD drawings to produce and install their main office reception desk.
